We are excited to announce that we are open! In our preparations to welcome you back into our space, we wanted to outline exactly what you can expect from our team here at Atlas and the precautions we are taking to ensure a safe and healthy environment for you and our team.

This is a lot of information but don’t worry our entire team is trained and ready to help guide you through your visit with us!

We will be seeing guests by appointment only, please call 202.803.2903 or go online to atlassalondc.com to get something scheduled.

 

Prior to your appointment:

  • Please cleanse and dry your hair same-day.
  • Minimize the amount of personal items you’ll be bringing into the space.
  • Ensure you are wearing clothing suitable for having your haircut and colored. We will be using sanitized capes but are suspending robe changes during this time.
  • Come alone to your appointment, only those receiving a service will be allowed in the salon; we are operating with reduced capacity for team members & guests.
  • If you have experienced symptoms, traveled internationally or been in contact with anyone affected in the last two weeks, please reschedule and we will waive the cancellation fees.
  • Please bring your own water or beverage as we will be suspending that part of our offerings for the time being.

 

Upon Arrival:

  • Call prior to showing up so we can ensure your stylist is ready to escort you into the salon and a freshly sanitized space.
  • An outdoor waiting area will be available, and will be utilized for a touchless check-in.
  • We will be asking a few basic questions regarding your recent and current health as well as be doing a quick temperature scan to ensure the safety of everyone entering our environment. If a temperature reflects 99 degrees or above we will be asking that you reschedule for two weeks out.
  • A mask is required to enter the salon, please be sure that your mask loops around the ears to allow for access to your head and hair.
  • Guests receiving all-over color services will be provided a disposable mask to switch into prior to entering the space.
  • A sanitation station will be set up outside the front door—we ask that you utilize the hand sanitizer and wipe down all items you are bringing with you into the space.

 

During your service:

  • We ask that both you and our team members wash hands upon entering the space and prior to beginning any service.
  • Guests will be spaced according to social distancing guidelines and you will be working one-on-one with your stylist for the duration of your service. This includes the shampoo.
  • Each styling chair, tool cart and surrounding area will be freshly wiped down and sanitized prior to your arrival and between every appointment.
  • All shampoo chairs and bowls will be wiped down and re-sanitized immediately following every use.
  • All tools and items utilized by your stylist will be rotated between appointments and fully sanitized for every service.
  • Every service will still include a shampoo, conditioner, hot towel and blow-dry. For hair cutting guests, if you prefer to skip the shampoo we will honor that. And for all guests preferring not to have a blow-dry we will honor that as well.
  • Please keep your mask on at all times during your service. Team members will be masked as well, and face shields will be worn by stylists during your shampoo.

 

As you leave our space:

  • Our checkout system will be completely touchless, only accepting card payments that will need to be entered into our system by our team members if not already on file. We will communicate totals, add any gratuity you wish, and bypass the signature with you being present.
  • Receipts will be emailed to you after the transaction.
  • Retail purchases and selection will be handled by team members and we ask that you not touch any items for sale. We will remove items from the shelves and place them in a bag for you upon purchasing. Just let us know what you need and we will continue to offer verbal and visual recommendations.
  • We would still love to set up your next visit with us and will continue to prebook all guests wanting to secure a time and day for their next visit to maintain their hair.

 

In addition to these items, we’d also like you to know:

  • Our space is professionally cleaned and we are increasing the frequency of these services.
  • Our team members have been diligently self-quarantining and staying safe. We will continue to practice safe social distancing and best practices so we can ensure our own health and ability to service you to the best of our ability.
  • Team members will also be undergoing daily temperature checks and asked to stay home if they experience any symptoms.
  • A reminder that both beverage service and stress-relieving treatments will be suspended temporarily (hand massage, scalp and shoulder massage). We will continue to evaluate and look for ways to incorporate these value-added aspects back into our experiences in a safe way.
  • We are limited in our capacity and booking availability in order to ensure our ability to go above and beyond the recommended precautions. We will try our best to accommodate requests for appointments and meet your scheduling needs, but we do ask for patience and understanding as we are placing safety as our top priority.
